Job Description
Oversees daily operations of the DeWitt Career Advancement Center. Works to assess local needs and develops, implements, and facilitates college credit classes and general interest continuing education classes. 

Serves as a liaison for CCC/EICC to DeWitt and the surrounding communities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, and a minimum of two years’ experience in an education atmosphere preferred. Good public relations skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to perform all operations necessary for training.
  • Must be able to assess proficiency of trainees.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Salary Starting $48-52k annually
Typical Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the daily operations of the DeWitt Career Advancement Center. Resolves all situations within the Center that affects the general welfare of staff, students, faculty, tenants, and the general public.
 
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates non-credit classes, community service offerings and special events. Works with Continuing Education Department for the selection, hiring, and evaluation of instructors and workshop assistants.
 
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of credit offerings in DeWitt.
 
  • Supervises the DeWitt CAC daytime and evening staff, including work study students. Schedules staff to assure maximum coverage for the Center.
 
  • Oversees the scheduling of rooms for course and community activities in the Center. Responsible for the scheduling and/or rental with both internal and external constituents.
 
  • Actively promotes the college’s credit and non-credit offerings and provides the public with general information about the college.
 
  • Serves as a liaison between the community, school district and the college.
 
  • Works with advisor(s) for DeWitt area students.
 
  • Coordinates the registration process for courses offered for area high school students.
 
  • Develops the schedule for the delivery of student books and materials and supplies for students at the Center
 
  • Coordinates student orientations, and refers students to appropriate staff for assistance.
 
  • Develops and maintains a process to communicate with area students, faculty and staff to keep informed about college policies and activities.
 
  • Monitors and assists in developing the budget for the DeWitt Center. Handles petty cash transactions.
 
  • Is committed to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.
