POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for management of the Trust Department, administration of key client relationships as well as new business development and client retention.  Designs systems to administer and grow client accounts/relationships efficiently and accurately to grow revenue while achieving strong regulatory results.  Facilitates communication within the entire Ohnward organization to establish a referral network of prospects for the trust department.  Responsible for providing clients estate planning, trust solutions, retirement planning, and farm management.

  • Reports to Ownership.
  • Works closely with trust department team, clients and centers of influence.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of the trust department and its direction, managing and coaching team members.
  • Technical knowledge of the probate process, administration of probate estates, reviewing and understanding wills, trusts and related legal documentation, administering various forms of trusts (revocable, irrevocable, etc.) and farmland management. 
  • Development of proficiency with the trust accounting system.
  • Implementing and monitoring internal controls.
  • Review and implement trust and estate planning documents.
  • Analyze and provide input regarding the investment strategy for money management portfolios considering client’s risk tolerance, goals for the portfolio, and market conditions.
  • Review discretionary distribution requests for trust accounts and provide sound decision making on whether to grant such requests. 
  • Oversee compliance with all fiduciary tax laws and regulations regarding client accounts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Good training techniques and familiarity with financial institution products for cross selling opportunities.

  • Knowledge of trust & estate planning, retirement planning, and money management principles.
  • Knowledge of trust operations and administration. 
  • Ability to manage and communicate with high net-worth (HNW) multi-generational clients.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Sales or related field; 7-10 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • CTFA or CFP designation preferred.
