Position Title: Outside Sales Account Manager

Position Summary:
The Outside Sales Manager is responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining existing customer relationships for a $30 million manufacturer of precision hydraulic tubing and related components. This role focuses on growing market share across OEMs, distributors, and key industrial accounts by leveraging technical knowledge and solution-based selling.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and target prospective customers in key industries such as construction equipment, agriculture, material handling, and heavy-duty trucking.
- Build and execute territory sales plans to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Develop quotes and proposals based on customer requirements and company capabilities.
- Conduct on-site visits to customer locations, provide product presentations, and gather technical requirements.
Account Management
- Manage existing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and upselling opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, resolving issues and facilitating internal support.
- Monitor customer demand, forecasts, and production schedules in coordination with inside sales and operations teams.
Market Intelligence
- Gather and report market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to inform product development and strategy.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.
Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, production, and customer service to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of products.
- Collaborate with marketing to support lead generation and promotional campaigns.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of successful B2B outside sales experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Experience selling to OEMs and industrial distributors is highly desired.
- Technical knowledge of tubing, hydraulics, or metal fabrication is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a competitive, technical sales environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Self-starter with high energy, discipline, and a consultative sales approach.
- Proficient with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and basic ERP concepts.
- Willingness to travel 50–70% of the time, depending on the territory.
