To Maquoketa Downtown Property or Business Owner:
The Maquoketa Chamber of Commerce, City of Maquoketa, and Jackson County Economic Alliance invite you to attend an information session on a potential Maquoketa Downtown Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).
The City of Maquoketa is considering applying for a $500,000 downtown CDBG grant. In order to apply for this grant, a detailed application must be prepared and submitted to the IEDA. The application must identify which properties plan to participate in the program and provide a summary of the proposed work and cost estimates for each property. This will require hiring an architectural firm to assist in submitting this application. The City received proposals from six firms to prepare this application paperwork. After interviewing and completing reference checks the council hopes to finalize a contract with 563 Design of Dubuque.
You are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, July 25 at 5:15pm at the Maquoketa Art Experience/Chamber of Commerce (124 S Main St, Maquoketa, IA 52060) to meet with representatives of 563 Design and to learn more about this process. This will also be an opportunity to answer questions, and get your input prior to finalizing an application for this funding. We consider this CDBG grant opportunity as the next major step in revitalizing the downtown.
We highly encourage you or a representative from your property or business to attend this informational session. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, but are unable to attend this informational session, please contact us at the Chamber or JCEA office.
Please register for this event below. We look forward to sharing more information with you at this meeting.
Sincerely,
Tuesday Jul 25, 2017
