The Ohnward Fine Arts Center Present Auditions for Moana, Jr.
Auditions: Thursday June 30 at 10 AM until noon and 1 PM until 2 PM. Rehearsal dates – July 5 – Aug. 5
Performance Dates August 6 at 7:00 PM And August 7 at 2:00 PM
The Ohnward Fine Arts Center is will be holding auditions for Moana Jr, on Thursday, June 30 from 10 AM until noon, and again from 1 PM until 2 PM at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center. Students from ages 8 (or going into 2nd grade) – 18 can audition for this show. Both male and females are invited to audition. The cost for kids to participate is $50. For families with more than one child the cost will be $50 for first child, $25 for second and $15 for child number 3 and more. A limited number of no cost or low cost scholarships are available. Please contact the Ohnward Fine Arts Center for more information on the scholarship program. All performers are allowed to keep all rehearsal materials.
This show will be directed by Ohnward Fine Arts Centers executive director Richard Hall. Music direction by Linda Polk. Piano accompanist will be Jenna Junge and chorography by Mandi Kuster.
Rehearsals are Monday through Friday from 10 AM until noon. We will not rehearse on any weekends. Rehearsals will start for everyone on July 5 and run through August 5. If your child is in the show you will need to check the Ohnward Fine Arts Center Facebook page DAILY so you are aware of rehearsal changes and etc. Every child will not need to be at every rehearsal every day.

You’ll love this thrilling and heartwarming stage adaptation of the coming-of-age tale of Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. She and the demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as she learns to harness the power that lies within. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite songs by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, such as “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.” With its empowering message of bravery, Moana JR. is sure to awaken your inner hero!
Adult Volunteers Are Needed for these Items:
Help with set painting
Help out with costumes
Help with set construction
Willing to make or construct prop items
Help backstage for both rehearsals and shows
Moana, Jr. will have two public performances on Saturday August 6 at 7 PM and Sunday August 7 at 2 PM. Tickets for the public performances will be $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for students. If purchased at the door on the day of the performances tickets will be $13 for adults and $10.00 for students Tickets can also be purchased at The Ohnward Fine Arts Center (from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm call 563-652-9815).
The shows approximate runtime is one hour.
