Lakehurst Dam

About Us

Located on the northwest side of Maquoketa along the Maquoketa River, this dam is known for its extremely beautiful views. Also known for its fishing holes, the Lakehurst Dam area provides fishing fun for all anglers. A primitive put-in site for canoeists and kayakers. EXTREME CAUTION should be taken near the Lakehurst Dam. People should not venture over, on, or close to the dam structures or they will risk drowning. The Lakehurst Dam area is part of the Maquoketa River Water Trail.
