It includes Canoeing/Kayaking\, Biking\, and Running.\n\n\n\nHUSCO International is our Honorary 2017 Timber City Adventure Race Sponsor!\n\n\n\nThere is both a Recreation Division and a Racing Division.\n\n\n\nThe Canoe/Kayak? is an 8 mi. course on the Maquoketa River beginning at Canton. You will wind below towering limestone bluffs and through secluded valleys on scenic route to Royertown Bridge access. This is the 2nd bridge you will come to. Exit on left side\, carry canoe past clear zone\, run up drive to get bike or tag biker if on relay team.\n\nCLICK HERE to view the detailed canoe/kayak route\n\n\n\nThe Bike? A 14 mile course that starts with a challenging incline ? one of the steepest in Jackson County\, continues with several rolling hills\, a steep decline with sharp right turn at the bottom and long flats to gather speed. Biker must follow all traffic laws\, including stop at Highway 61 before crossing. Helmets are required.\n\n(No drafting allowed)\n\nCLICK HERE to view the detailed bike route\n\n\n\nThe Run? is a 5K (3.1 mile) mostly flat course starting at Hurstville Lime Kilns. Head south on old Highway 61\, follow the signs and course directors through the turns in Maquoketa.\n\nCLICK HERE to view the detailed run route\n\n\n\nWater will be available at each exchange (and on run course). Volunteers will be stationed throughout the course.\n\n\n\nShowers available at Maquoketa Area Family YMCA.\n\nTowels will not be provided.\n\n\n\nINDIVIDUAL COMPETITION:\n\nJust you and the elements tackling all legs of the race!\n\n\n\nTEAM COMPETITION:\n\n2 PERSON TEAM: Consists of 2 members who do all legs of the race. Finish time is average of both members times. 2 Men\, 2 Women\, or Mixed.\n\n4 PERSON TEAM: Relay style. LOCATION:Registration opens at 7 AM at Canton. Race starts at 7:30 AM at The Hop at Canton located at 14966 4th Ave\, Monmouth\, IA 52309. Recreation class starts first. Race ends on Main Street in front of the Chamber Office\, located at 124 S. Main Street\, Maquoketa\, IA 52060. You must provide your own equipment (bike\, helmets\, paddles [double bladed are allowed]\, life jackets\, canoe\, etc.) If canoe\, life jacket and paddles are needed\, for an extra $35 Maquoketa River Rentals will provide them. Register online ASAP as canoe rental is limited.
